Description

Traditional Crown Trim Set – Top & Bottom Profiles

Create a seamless and stately molding arrangement with bed molding profile knives. Featuring a top and bottom profile, this matched set is crafted to complete crown molding installations with balanced proportions and elegant lines. It’s a versatile choice for millwork projects requiring a built-up, dimensional appearance.

Cutting Sequence Tip:

When using W&H bottom knives (angle cuts), mill the bottom profile first. Then switch to the top profile knife, flip your stock over, and cut the top profile.

TIP: Before milling the top profile, make a couple of guides to hold the back-angled cuts in place for accuracy.

Purpose – Top Bed Molding Profile Knife

  • Defines the upper edge of the molding where it meets the ceiling
  • Adds a graceful curve and finishing line to crown molding applications
  • Contributes to the layered effect in multi-profile molding assemblies

Purpose – Bottom Bed Molding Profile Knife

  • Complements the upper profile by providing a stable, stylish base
  • Smooths the visual transition between molding and wall
  • Delivers decorative depth while keeping the design cohesive

Common Usage

  • Crown Molding Combinations: Works with or without additional crown elements for custom builds
  • Cabinet and Furniture Trim: Accents upper and lower trim sections in casework and furniture
  • Under Shelving and Mantels: Enhances overhangs with refined detail beneath
  • Ceiling Transitions: Brings a high-end, layered look to the wall-ceiling junction in any space
