Description

Soft-Edge Trim for Clean Transitions

Designed to create smooth, subtle curves, this cove profile knife is ideal for adding understated elegance wherever surfaces meet. Whether it’s walls, ceilings, or cabinetry, this profile enhances the flow and finish of your space.

Cutting Sequence Tip:

When using W&H bottom knives (angle cuts), mill the bottom profile first. Then switch to the top profile knife, flip your stock over, and cut the top profile.

TIP: Before milling the top profile, make a couple of guides to hold the back-angled cuts in place for accuracy.

Purpose

  • Creates a curved transition that visually softens sharp corners between walls, ceilings, or cabinetry
  • Offers a refined, polished look that suits both traditional and contemporary interiors
  • Helps hide minor gaps or uneven surfaces at intersecting planes
  • Provides minimal yet effective decorative detailing for streamlined trim designs

Common Usage

  • Ceiling Corners: Blends the ceiling and wall junction to avoid harsh lines
  • Kitchen Cabinets: Fills the space between cabinet tops and ceilings for a finished appearance
  • Baseboard Tops: Adds character where baseboards meet drywall
  • Stair Trim: Softens edge lines between stair elements
  • Wainscoting Finish: Used to top off panels with gentle curvature
