Description

Low-Profile Trim with High Visual Impact

Add structure and softness at once with this cove profile knife. It’s an ideal choice for designers and woodworkers seeking understated detailing that still makes an impression.

Cutting Sequence Tip:

When using W&H bottom knives (angle cuts), mill the bottom profile first. Then switch to the top profile knife, flip your stock over, and cut the top profile.

TIP: Before milling the top profile, make a couple of guides to hold the back-angled cuts in place for accuracy.

Purpose

  • Bridges gaps between perpendicular surfaces using a curved molding
  • Prevents visual harshness by rounding out otherwise sharp corners
  • Useful for correcting slight misalignments between ceiling, wall, or trim
  • Complements minimalist and classic designs equally well

Common Usage

  • Top-of-Wall Transitions: Smooths out ceiling-to-wall junctions
  • Kitchen Finishes: Ideal for covering cabinet gaps and corners
  • Baseboard Transitions: Applied at the top to improve trim dimension
  • Stair Details: Finishes riser and tread joints with visual finesse
  • Paneling Edges: Used along paneling tops to polish the edge
