Description
Controls Arbor RPM and Power Transmission
The Motor Drive Pulley is a critical drive system component located at the rear of the molder inside the belt guard. Working in conjunction with the drive belt, the pulley transfers power from the motor to the arbor and directly influences cutterhead RPM.
Proper pulley condition and sizing are essential for maintaining correct arbor speed, smooth operation, and consistent cut quality.
This replacement pulley is available in two sizes:
- 5″ Pulley
- 2.5″ Pulley
Precision Belt Tracking
Each pulley features a center track designed to properly guide the drive belt. This ensures:
- Stable belt alignment
- Reduced slippage
- Smooth power transfer
- Consistent arbor speed
A worn or damaged pulley can cause belt misalignment, vibration, or inconsistent RPM.
When to Replace the Motor Drive Pulley
Replacement may be necessary if you notice:
- Excessive belt wear
- Belt slipping or jumping
- Visible groove wear on the pulley
- Inconsistent cutterhead RPM
- Vibration from the rear drive system
Replacing a worn pulley helps restore proper power transmission and machine performance.
Compatibility
Compatible with:
- Williams & Hussey Constant Speed Molders
- Williams & Hussey Variable Feed (Vari-Feed) Molders
- Older and newer model configurations
Located inside the belt guard at the rear of the machine.
