Description

Curved Crown Detail for Light-Filled Rooms

Brighten up open spaces with this elegant, gently curved molding. It adds a soft finish that complements both natural light and painted ceilings.

Cutting Sequence Tip:

When using W&H bottom knives (angle cuts), mill the bottom profile first. Then switch to the top profile knife, flip your stock over, and cut the top profile.

TIP: Before milling the top profile, make a couple of guides to hold the back-angled cuts in place for accuracy.

Purpose

  • Curves neatly over corners where walls meet ceilings
  • Adds subtle architectural structure to any room
  • Perfect for modern or transitional interior themes
  • Can reduce shadow lines caused by hard ceiling angles

Common Usage

  • Sunrooms: Adds a polished border to large, open ceiling spaces
  • Kitchen Islands: Finishes the upper edge of custom cabinetry
  • Baseboard Pairings: Used in visual layering for added interest
  • Stairway Transitions: Maintains trim continuity through varying levels
  • Beadboard and Shiplap Ends: Completes wood wall treatments
