The Constant Speed Fiber Drive Pack is an essential replacement part designed to protect the gearbox of Williams & Hussey constant speed molders.

Located between the gearbox and the arbor, the fiber drive functions as a sacrificial component. In the event of a cutting error or sudden load, it is engineered to fail first. This helps prevent expensive damage to gearbox gears and internal drive components.

Replacing a fiber drive is significantly less expensive and less time-consuming than repairing a damaged gearbox.

How the Fiber Drive Protects Your Machine

Unlike hardened steel components, the fiber drive is intentionally designed to give way under excessive stress. This controlled failure protects critical internal components from catastrophic damage.

Because the fiber drive sits in the end of the arbor and connects the gearbox to the drive system, it acts as the first line of defense in the feed mechanism.

If you are using a constant speed molder, we strongly recommend keeping spare fiber drives on hand to minimize downtime if one breaks.

Signs Your Fiber Drive Needs Replacement

Replace the fiber drive if you notice:

• It is visibly broken or cracked
• Feed rollers do not move, even with pressure applied
• The machine powers on but material does not advance
• There is loss of drive between the gearbox and arbor

If the feed rollers are not turning but the motor is running, a broken fiber drive is often the cause.

• Any model without a gearbox
